We are living in a global society. This global society works on information
exchange. Having the Korean NGOs Asian Center enhances the networking of Asian
NGOs, particularly those situated in the third world countries, to keep up with
the information exchange of global society nowadays.
The Asian Center was established in Metro Manila, in the Philippines on February
2003 by Korean NGOs with the help of Filipino NGO activists. The aim of the
center is to unify the missions of Asian NGOs through networking of information.
Our Goals:
¡á To expand exchange of information between Korean and Asian NGOs.
¡á To improve Korean NGOs' coordination in international activity.
¡á To contribute to networking and supporting activities within Asian Civil society.
Our Missions:
¡á Information and Networking with Asian NGOs and Asian Civil Society.
¡á Capability Building (Reflection and Training) to NGO workers.
¡á Advocacy (Issue Based Network Activity) for Solidarity of NGOs in Asia
Our Programs:
¡á Exchange information and Networking with Asian civil society organizations
¡á Training for NGO workers, including internship, exchange program, workshop,
volunteer
¡á work, divided into two types
1. Long-term exposure program, lasting for about 6months. This is to learn about
civil society, proceeding from an understanding of the civil society movement
in the Philippines.
2. Issue based exposure program. Lasting for 2weeks. This type is to raise awareness
on environmental, gender issues, and other specific civil society sectors and
concerns.
